Become a sponsor of the SA Science Awards
A message from South Australia's Chief Scientist Caroline McMillen
Sponsoring the SA Science Excellence Awards represents an investment in excellence and innovation and supports the future of South Australia as the ‘State of Science’.
Every day across South Australia, STEM educators and researchers work to develop the next generation of scientists and to deliver discoveries that underpin our future health, environmental sustainability and economy. The SA Science Excellence Awards recognise the creativity, innovation and commitment of our STEM workforce and the impact of their work across the State, Australia and on the world stage.
Supporting science at this stage in our State’s history is particularly important. In SA, as in other jurisdictions across the world, there has been a transition from an economy built on traditional manufacturing to one built around clusters of high-tech industries such as defence, space, renewable energy, cyber-security, health, biotechnology and data analytics. These industries are ones underpinned by a deep science, engineering and technology knowledge base and it is therefore critical that we acknowledge and recognise the depth of the STEM talent present across SA.
The SA Science Excellence Awards provide a great opportunity to celebrate the innovative educators in school, TAFE and university classrooms, the global calibre of our researchers and the active collaboration and engagement between research, government and industry partners across all sectors in the State.
Every year the number of submissions for these awards - representing the brightest and best talent across the State – continues to grow with 85 applications in 2018 alone – the highest number of submissions in our history.
I look forward to sharing a night of celebration with you - and to toasting the achievements of our wonderful science educators and researchers.
